I don't subscribe much to conspiracy theories, right-wing or otherwise. I just think this report reminds us that the Bush administration exaggerated its claims about Iraq to whip up public support for an invasion of Iraq and continues to do so even today. We deserve better. And the nearly 2,700 soldiers who have died in Iraq deserve better as well.
The fact that we went to war in Iraq on such failed intelligence underscores the point that this nation is not well-served when its executive and legislative branches are dominated by the same political party. There are no checks and balances - no capacity to hold each branch accountable.
We presently has one of the most incompetent presidents in American history at the helm when the difficult times call for something better. This report should serve as a reminder to us all that effective governance and quality leadership is built upon the foundation of accurate information and meticulous analysis.
Its time for a change. Let's make it happen this November.
