Well, I'll let Lindy answer that question.
It's just, for the record, I was taught that the world would run completely out of gasoline by 1990 and that a second ice age was coming within the next 30 years (which should have been about now). Folks were going to freeze to death without heating oil and cars would rust. The ice age's cause? Pollution, naturally.
Credible scientists with degrees from respectable universities predicted these things and made very scientific sounding cases for how and why these events were occurring.
Now a child comes home from school and tells me the world will soon be under the sea when all the icebergs melt because of the holes in the ozone layer and is taught that this is going to happen in the next twenty years.
I cringe as I recall how my generation was exploited by folks who were supposedly "well intentioned" but were really feeding on fear and empowering themselves and insuring a lucrative career using fear and politics.
Let's see:
Scale time!

By my measure Eric & Lindy gazing excitedly over shuttle footage seems positively wholesome and harmless.
