I was out there a couple of months ago and didn't see anything that night, but I went and chatted with a man who's been going regularly for several months now, an older man in his 70's who is a MUFON rep for NC and he had plenty of eye-witness accounts that were his own and others. Remarkable stories. Non that fit your decription.
>"They were able to prove the BMLs were refracted images of lights on radio towers."
Hmm, and I suppose those roll down the mountains and nearly come face-to-face with you, as some of the stories go? Refractions don't move, or roll down hills.
>" They were able to duplicate the flashing frequency and the locations of the lights, which they found marked on aeronautical charts of the area."
That's a very good follow-through. There are flashing lights occasionally but have been found to be car headlights moving along a mountain road.
I can't say one way or another but I plan to get out there again sometime in the future again. I'm a very careful observer.
