That's a tough one ER. Obviously what makes this case compelling is the crotchety old authoritarian enforcing the letter of the law. I'm certain that if she handled it with some tact and compassion, it wouldn't be that much of an issue.

Let's face it. We all knowingly break laws all the time and know that there's consequences should we get caught. The law seems valid knowing what pests skateboarders and kids on bikes can be on public sidewalks but those things are always selectively enforced. There's parts of Phoenix where if you don't ride your bike on the sidewalk, you'll end up splattered on the busy too-narrow roadway.

The girl needs to accept her punishment. Then the citizenry needs to repeal or put exemptions into the law and they need to remove the old nasty biddy from office for being just that.
