Space/Science — HabitableZone

rephrasing the question

I wonder who else here in the Habitable Zone actually gets out in an organized way to proselytize our space efforts?

How about this: Is there anything that the HabitableZone can do as a group, in an organized way, to proselytize our space efforts?

Given our unique strengths, it'd no doubt be something on the Net, maybe articles derived from discussions here, maybe raw bookmarked threads on topics of recurring public interest. Maybe we could have an "Ask a Zoner" board where the public can ask questions and engage in conversation. It seems like many of us archives of images, documents, and other collectibles we could make available. Maybe we could take on groups such as school science classes or summer camps as pet projects.

Or, maybe would contribute in a "meta" way, by establishing a clearing house and coordination center for science/space outreach groups. We could have a discussion board for those groups, to share their experiences and expertise. I'd expect cross-fertilization, and perhaps Zoners will join up with outreach groups they learn about here. This might leverage our efforts: We're not tied to any one place, while outreach groups tend to have a physical presence in one location, and maybe we could help out many groups on a global basis.

We have the HabitableZone Fund that was set up with no particular purpose in mind, except for the potential to decide to use it someday if we decide to do something organized. It has a couple of hundred bucks in it, which won't move mountains, but we have collective resources for small things.

Change the question slightly, and it produces its own answers.
