Cost/benefit

The amount of money it would take to undertake a very extensive NEO tracking program would be lost in the noise of the economic impact that would result from the various wet-dream regulations and restrictions the global warming advocates would put on the Western world.

This isn't a "no-cost" choice.

Kyoto has been a failure for those countries that signed up, both economically, and in emission results. But like most failures of huge leftist programs, this is completely ignored.

One story on this here.

Not to rub anybody's nose in the obvious, but the only reason they got even as far as they did in emissions was because of the economic collapse of the Soviet Bloc which, not surprisingly, cleaned up their air. Other nations are buying credits off these collapsed economies to try to meet their own targets.

The entire thing is a fiasco, and most of us knew it a long time ago.
