This planet will (probably) NEVER become uninhabitable until the Sun goes Red Giant and grills it to death.
Now, there will clearly be quality-of-life issues in a world with changing climate, but this is not a black and white scenario. The end of the last glaciation saw some useful changes in ecological niches which Mankind exploited. Future climate change will be similarly seized on, by some, as an opportunity.
Is that inevitable future climate change purely anthropogenic? - clearly no. Is it "largely" anthropogenic? - maybe, but there isn't enough objective non-political data to show this, yet. (imho)
Will changes to our energy consumption patterns NOW be enough to stop future climate change?
Well, only the Anthropogenic component could be avoided, and we might not want to "avoid" a change that negated the next ice age. It may already be too late to avoid some significant change, but there may be time to avoid major future (unwanted) change. The situation is complex, and needs rational analysis, not knee-jerk reaction.
I agree that the risks are large, but they are neither clear as regards outcomes nor are any of the options pain-free or one-sided.
If you're going to debate this on the Space pages, remain factual, objective, polite, and open-minded.
The POLITICS of the issue is a matter for CE, imho. And if you get into name-calling, take it to Flame. it can be wonderfully cathartic to indulge in some name-calling and mud slinging somewhere that you won't spoil the funishings.

If the outcomes were clear, so would the choices be...
