Don't count your chickens, is my advice

We could have a big al-Qeda-linkable attack in a non-Iraq country, for instance. Followed by a rash of Republican chest-thumping and Democrat-blaming. This has been shown to pump up approval ratings by more than 10% in a day.

Haven't heard who OBL endorses for control of congress.

Lots of things could change the dynamics of the election.

Though I do think the public is a little more skeptical of the chest-thumping every time the tactic is used. (never loses its popularity around here, I notice)
