I dread having to replace my cell phone each time because the new ones get smarter and more complicated with every version. I really don't want to crack a half-inch manual to make a phone call.
I come into the cell phone store now, and the phones whisper as I go past...
"Buy me. I'm better than that other one. I have video, subspace transmission capacity, and Mark 5 AI. You'll like me. I'll be your best friend..."
"Don't listen to that paperweight. Buy me! I've got the Beta of the new teleportation function and can be upgraded to the Colossus 1.4 planetary weapons control feature!"
I ignore them, keep my head pointed straight ahead, step over the mess on the carpet (Beta teleportation function, you know), and go for the counter to get my new battery.
