Why should we listen to Michael J. Fox anyway?

Why should I care what a rich actor has to say about ANYTHING. If he wants to fund stem cell research he can peddle himself down to a 3rd world country and pay some of his millions to doctors who'll gladly take them.

I was equally unimpressed by Christopher Reeve doing the same thing.

A selfish appeal is all that it is.

Stem call research is dead end. If they want to cure Parkinson's they need to learn about the nervous system and cerebral cortex and the fundamental frequency of the same which transmits data back and forth from the body. This will also clue them in to epileptic seizures to and the disruption of these signals which cause spasms and seizures throughout the body.

Fox was a hyper-chain smoker, and who knows what other drugs he took that poisoned his body - and damaged his brain. All those toxins circulate in the blood around the brain and slowly degrade the signals the brain transmits through the nervous system. Being an actor is not a healthy profession. All the make-up poisons the skin, all the hair spray ruins the lungs and the bright lights and mirrors ruin the eyes.

Reeve was on a death wish participating in all sorts of sports and activities he was no good at trying to prove he was not just an 'ordinary man' an accident like whis was bound to happen. Even his death was unneccessary as he disregarded his doctor's suggestions.

They only have themselves to blame and then they pass the buck to the public trying to engender some sort of guilt trip?

If I were the emotional type I would find such selfploitation - to use another poster's words:

'despicable.'

But I'm not and I so I don't - I simply find it par for the course. Selfishness and selfish appeals are quite common on this world.
