Wait! Barbara Boxer has a plan, too!
BOXER: Wolf, the president said, what is our plan for the war on terror. He didn't say the war in Iraq. They're two different things. My plan and the Democratic plan is to listen to the recommendations of the 9-11 Commission. Congresswoman Pelosi has said in the first 100 hours, if they take back the House, they would adopt those to truly protect the American people and stop scaring them.
My plan would be to focus on getting Osama bin Laden and al Qaida. And my plan -- and the Democrats have said this, and we voted for it in the Senate -- is to begin redeploying the troops out of Iraq, where they are fueling the terrorists, fueling al Qaida, and return to fighting the war on terror.
I hear the "implement the recommendations of the 9-11 Commission" a lot. It's a major talking point. What's funny is the times an interviewer actually asks "which ones?" You can hear the meaty smack of a face hitting a wall, and the subject is deftly changed.
Osama, if he's still alive, is in western Pakistan with much of the Taliban and al Qaeda, where the Pakistani government has largely washed its hand of them. I'd love to hear Boxer's suggestions on "getting" them.
Of course, the unconditional surrender in Iraq is there again, but with the added treat of getting these troops to "return to fighting the war on terror." Where, exactly, is this going to happen? Kansas? Is it going to be someplace where somehow nobody will be shooting at them, and they WON'T see the casualties she seems to think are the worst part of the war? And where will they be "fighting the war on terror" where it will somehow NOT fuel al Qaeda?
These people are complete airheads. It's small wonder they usually dive under the desk when the conversation turns to any specific policy other than "Bush sucks."
