--Muslims in America are threatened by laws and procedures that target their religion, and make expression of that religion uncomfortable, or even dangerous. This is a bad thing.

--The suppression of religious culture in Iraq by means of murder, oppression, and outright genocide resulted in a much more secular and modern society. This was a good thing.

A certain kind of mind can keep both of these thoughts comfortably in their head at the same time. I'm having some trouble with it myself.
