is the day I'll change my profession to Minstrel singer in downtown Harlem.

I never once disputed that the passengers may have been completely justified in their concerns in the incident. I just was pointing out that, given the probable cultural and religious makeup of those passengers, one needed to include their possible bias and paranoia into the equation and not simply take their statements in the police report at face value. Tom seems to have a problem with that concept of gray areas regarding human behavior.

The fact that we do not have personal and intimate knowledge of the dynamics of that day don't preclude us from brainstorming possibilities. It's a valuable tool for cutting past pre-conceived notions. You should try it sometime.
