To this day a majority of the public thinks there was a deal between him and TRICKY DICK for the prez pardon so close to his being president from NIXON. I was in DC on Aug 9, 1974 on vacation and the mood was of elation, distrust and would the gov continue in an orderly and precise manner, it did but the damage done to the new man in the Oval Office by this pardon cost him the election in 1976.......
