Mixed emotions about the guy

One of our least-threatening Presidents. I was often at odds with some of his policies and decisions but always felt he was an honest and caring man.

The part I always had the most problem with in regards to Ford was his work on the Warren Commission. What an incompetent mess that whole thing turned out to be and one would think those guys had access to some truly low level and detailed information. Instead these guys were easily duped and manipulated by what I believe to be an extremely embarassed Secret Service and FBI.

The pardon of Nixon was a pisser at first but then I rationalized it all by realizing that really no good would come of pushing the issue. I think that was Ford's strength, that of a peacemaker.

As far as his stumbles on camera, I've taken some dorky falls in my day and can't imagine if I had a camera on me at all times.
