Space/Science » in reply to Testing self-awareness in non-humans

My dogs.

All of them have been quite self aware, and didn't give a rip about their appearance. However, they were aware of affection, guilt, and all emotions in between.

They used everything they had, mouth, head, ears, body, tail and feet to express themselves. Humans confuse an inability to talk and use language with ignorance. Too chauvanistic.
