I wouldn't ignore Obama just yet. Right now it seems like the other candidates are just courted by parties, while Obama seems to be gaining strength with a large base of common people.
This might also be the reason why they are attacking his public figure and not his political career.
Make him look ugly to the people while we continue to tingle and mingle with our other candidates, the ones that the people don't like so much but we will make them change their mind.
It's true that it's way too early to make predictions or assumtions. I would just feel safe to say: don't ignore BHO just yet
