We are not playing by Afghani rules here.
Not all the Afghanis play by Taliban rules, either.
Moderate Muslims exist. They are among the ones being shot and blown up by the fundamentalists.
If they can see the West's superpower running an election with candidates who run on their political positions rather than their religious faith, what better proof that we actually offer an alternative to fundamentalist zeal, rather than just trading one set of fundamentalists for another?
