In hindsight it looks more and more plausible to me that the media freak-out over 'Bush threatening space weapons' (which he didn't -- the quotes about that, attributed to the space policy paper, were bogus) was orchestrated by those intending to lay down pre-justifications for the impending Chinese ASAT test. With the help of 'useful idiots' in the news media, academia, wherever that type is found... <grin>
