I say it's reasonable in the present world for the Chinese to develop an anti-satellite capability.
You say Bush has no intentions of using space for hostile purposes and never telegraphs that he might.
Seems that simple.
If I were Chinese I would not want to place the fate of millions of my citizens into the tender mercies of George W. Bush & Company. I would regard it as irresponsible to trust the desire of GWB & Co. for peace.
I love your articles on space, read every one I can find, and believe you might want to stick with the technical stuff if you trust Bush and believe the threatened uses of space dreamed up by his DoD are just nonsense.
So, I believe we have plumbed the shallow depths of understanding here, and will have to agree to disagree.

- Maybe not...
- You have to assume that they could do this without "proving it" stupid test.
- We tested one method of destroying satellites. Do you object to our test on the same grounds?
