This issue I was addressing was the rationality of China developing a satellite-killing capacity. The citations I made were only a few of many which indicate a Bush & Co. fascination with weaponizing space.
Couple that with the tendency of the current administration to operate in secret, their warmongering nature, their preoccupation with offense and desire to regard threats and insults as diplomacy of the highest order.
It seems reasonable to me that China would regard having an ability to decommission satellites would be in their national and possibly the worlds best interest.
It's perceptions as much as reality, a sad by-product of Bush secrecy and desire to project his power everywhere. A wise leader would have to assume the worst about Bush, and so far would not be mistaken.

Sigh.
The whole thread (29 posts)
- China being stupid in space.
- Maybe not...
- You have to assume that they could do this without "proving it" stupid test.
- We tested one method of destroying satellites. Do you object to our test on the same grounds?
- Assumption in this case might be invalid
