Whatever.
I KNEW it would inflame the Middle East, along with millions of others worldwide. It was a horrific blunder. To top it all off, the man who singlehandedly made that decision is an arrogant born-again Christian with a sense of megalomania and a burning desire to see Armageddon in his lifetime. This is the final solution, using Christianity to rout out the muslims and their religion. He has ended up turning hundreds of thousands (if not millions) of muslims against us in their final judgement to the west, their jihad.
And going into Saudi Arabia would've been better how? If as you say, going into Iraq made millions of Muslims go beserk with homicidal religious ferver, then what would a Western "Crusader" army going into the land of Mecca have done to the oh so sensitive nature of otherwise lovable and caring followers of the prophet throughout the world? It would've been 100 times worse.
Bush knew this, which is why he chose to go into Iraq to try and create a base within the heart of the Mideast. A base from where the message of the mullahs could begin to be countered by western ideals.
