"As long as the primary motivators behind the issue are political..."

They're not. The secondary motivators are. As long as liberals believe conservatives are ready to destroy the world for monetary gain, and conservatives are convinced liberals only care about dismantling freedom and free enterprise, then all the issues are forgotten and political labels substituted for them. This is the point of view I'm always harping about and that troubles me so much. Maybe I am overdoing it and spend to much time whining about it, but the secondary debate continues on subject after subject here, whether it be military policy, immigration, economics, education, law, everything. It dominates everything. The zone has become a political cesspool and some of the brightest minds I've had the privilege to be associated with are spinning their wheels instead of talking to each other. It's a conflict that is tearing this country apart, and it will be remembered by historians as the real reason American democracy failed in the 21st century.
