Hi Martha!

My name is Robert, and I once was a Libertarian. They say you never really get over it, Libertarianism being a disease and all, so I guess it'd be fair to call myself a recovering Libertarian.

I can count Libertarianism as a youthful indiscretion. Or at least a younger one, back in the eighties it was, when naked greed was briefly fashionable and I let my head get turned by the blandishments of money and toll roads and the promise of no taxes, and enlisted in The Libertarian Movement. Probably not a coincidence that I'd just moved from the workbench to a cubicle and started wearing a suit and tie to work at The Soulless Corporation. However, to my credit I never adopted the suspenders and bow tie...though I probably should've, suspenders at least, since my total absence of gluteal development has meant that I've worn my pants fashionably low since long before it was fashionable. But that's another story...

'Course, then came Lyndon LaRouche and his Merry Band of Credit Card Scamsters, and I took the pledge. Haven't fallen off the wagon once in all these years, and I'm a better person for it.
