There's a vacant Eckerd's near us and something else is being build next to it(?!). It might have to do with the architechtural look of the building. To some, it may remind people of the previous franchise, who knows and who cares.
I have to say that what you said is true of Walgreens and Lowe's and I've even seen a Home Depot pop up in the same building where a Builder's Square once was. So, there's hope.
