I agree the US can't solve the problem.

There are two things the US could do:
Get out of Iraq.
Get the Israelis and the Palestinians together and talk to both of them until they decide to make concessions. Once concessions are accepted,
a process is started.
No suicide bomber must be allowed to stop the process, nor provocations from both sides.
