On looking at the question further...

...I'm not at all sure where you expected this to go.

I did some looking around and quickly found myself so far out of my depth the fish around me had lights on their noses. What I found for had no meaning to me, and I guess I hoped you'd get something out of it.

Unless somebody here was actually into this kind of esoteric physics (applies to high-level math as well,) either the Zoners just have to sort of let the question lie there, or jump into it with unrelated observations, silly or otherwise.

Things like "dark matter," and a lot of other things that are sort of "observed" by omission, sometimes fall into this category. After a while, we laymen start to wonder if some physicists aren't just starting to do the equivalent of sticking planets to crystal spheres just to make the numbers work.

From an engineering standpoint, I get interested when somebody tells me how to use a physics phenomenon for something. Show me how to tie a "string" into a knot to get energy from it, and you've got my attention. On one end, you have cloud chambers, and on the other end, you have bombs and an energy source.
