Well, what I wrote properly WAS a flame.

As for standards on the science board- I dunno. It seems clear to me that this nonsense belongs on off-topic, but the 'hucksters' will simply scream and yell if tey are forced to do that. They want the legitamacy of having their fantasy crud considered to be science, or okay to slather on the science board, and the board wants people to just go along to get along. I don't think you'll find the 'political will' to get crap removed from science and put of Off Topic.

My vote, though it doesn't really have much weight, is to simply move crap to off-topic. Its not like they are being silenced or treated prejudicially. Its not like they are being muzzled. Its just that those who actually are interested in truthful discourse on scientific issues should be allowed that right- and those wanting to air their propeller-head nonsense can have a venue for that, on off-topic.

As for the idea that it would be somehow chilling to move stuff with extreme prejudice, well, I think thats silly. We have plent of educated intelligent people here, who know what stinks like BS and what doesn't. This isn't some sort of relativism soup here. Its easy to make the cut.
