Not really

I had it done after birth as well, and use to think that it was normal and for the best. I've changed my opinion on it, and if I ever have sons, they will not have it done to them. Complications from the procedure aren't common, but they do happen. In some instances the penis has to be removed due to infection and/or a careless hand cutting too much. Nerve damage and scarring are also reported. Imagine trying to explain to your adolescent son why he's missing something due to a botched social custom.

As for women preferring it, up until the early 1990s around 90% of men in the US were circumcised. Women preferred it because it was the norm, and uncircumcised males were an oddity. Today most newborn males are not circumcised, so it's becoming the new norm for men to not be cosmetically altered down there. In the next decade or so, men who are cut will be the oddity.
