A question of taste

" "War is a horrible thing. It is about killing," ABC News "Nightline" Executive Producer Leroy Sievers said in an unusual message to the program's e-mail subscribers discussing the issues posed by Wednesday's killings. "If we try to avoid showing pictures of bodies, if we make it too clean, then maybe we make it too easy to go to war again."

Read that last bit twice. "If we try to avoid showing pictures of bodies, if we make it too clean, then maybe we make it too easy to go to war again." "

This idea that it's good to do things which deter the US from getting involved in any future war is something Lefties consider to be the correct thing to do.

This view is not just held solely by extreme lefties, but rather it's rare for a lefty not to hold this view [due to them being throughly brainwashed]. Many other non-rational people of all stripes could also hold this view- which btw, could be held by rightwing babykillers and other blood lusting war fiends.

My point is that it is not merely a political view, but rather the position simply reflects unquestioned assumptions. And of course you can be emotionally support such a bigoted and hateful position, but my point is it is not rationally defensible.

Therefore, I invite posters who would support this view to do the impossible and try to defend that position with a reasonable argument.

Now, of course I haven't provided an argument explaining why this idea is wrong; if anyone wants to perform that task explaining why it's wrong, they are also welcome to do so.
