It's called "adulthood". Anything else is irresponsible.
Only someone who got their idea of war from comic books and John Wayne movies could have asked that question. Disgusting, petty people, who regard other human beings as objects, unfeeling animals. People like that who have to hide from the hideous results of their bloodthirsty whims.
War degrades everyone in it, both sides, the guilty and the innocent. It could not be sold to a conscious public if the truth were known.
War is obscene. Only very sick people would choose war. By definition. Sometimes it's forced upon a people, as it was the Iraqis, as it was the Native Americans, as it was the US at Pearl Harbor.
And it still degrades everyone who participates. Just as torture corrodes the soul of the torturer. It is no sin to be tortured - it is a sin to torture.
That's a subject dear to my heart, and one that the Chickenhawks will NEVER understand. Chickenhawks are unfeeling bastards who derive self-esteem from their nation killing others, like a big game. I realize that, but I still "bite".
Arf (You should have stopped sooner, Bow. I didn't go on as long as I could have!!)

Why shouldn't people be aware of the consequences of their actions?
