Bush has demonstrated as a CEO and CinC that he can't win. Doesn't have it in him.
First, how many al-Qaeda were in Iraq before Bush? How many 9-11 terrorists were Iraqi?
We both know. None.
Second, everything "accomplished" could have been accomplished without killing 100,000 innocent Iraqis. Everything. All of it.
The cost in the short and long run to the US, as opposed to a smart, targeted attack on real, live terrorists instead of the general populations of Iraq and Afghanistan, has been enormous, way, way more than the benefits. The cost to America has been civil liberties, human rights, self-respect and the respect of other peoples and nations. We have gone from being a victim to being a persecutor of innocent people.
And I repeat, the invasion of Iraq was necessary to none of what you tout. That there is al-Qaeda there now is due to Bush.
Try looking at cost-effective ways of combating terrorism, rather than creating more terrorists, and more after that.
