"It's not the end of the world - you can survive!"
In line with my intention to pay more attention to the right-wing point of view in an effort to make sense of it in ways other than how I currently view it, I have started reading more conservative sources as I run across them.
A link on Drudge led to this, and other informative articles which do, indeed, help. If one steeps oneself in this material one will have a view of the world which is a bit different from the one I have.
Now, my current understanding of conservatives is that they, contrary to professions, wants big government to control the citizenry down to the last detail. Look at what they do, not at what they say. Citizens are valued primarily as consumers. Greed is the biggest operative, in the name of "free enterprise". And that every situation is good v. evil, win or lose, with conservatives always the White Knight on the white horse. As Carl Jung said about some folks, to them "all inequity lies 5 km. behind enemy lines." Sort of like how most of us viewed the world in junior high school.
So far I haven't found much to change that view. I'll keep looking. If nothing else it's entertaining.
