Have a great trip. I envy you.

Sailing seems to have all the advantages. A chance to go to remote areas, isolated areas, in absolute comfort, letting the wind or diesel fuel do the work, and with all the oxygen all you can handle. And there's an intellectual challenge in the routes, scheduling, timing and messing with sails. Beautiful

Before they each died, my brother-in-law and sister spent a lot of time aboard a 36' Cascade my brother-in-law, a master craftsman, finished. It even had a "fireplace", a glass windowed box in which diesel fuel could burn to heat the cabin. (I'm not sure how much it ran under sail and how much with the 1-lung diesel "auxilliary".) The woodwork was unbelievable. The radar, radios and navigation equipment was able to be seen and used from both the cabin and helm. They did not worry about the size or weight of what they took with them, it was the best of all worlds.

You must be familiar with all of that. I never have gotten over my awe.

I think you're smart.
