re: Warmest month of april on record in Europe

All that sounds really scary. I have a feeling this year the summer will be unbearable and everyone will start to cook on some days. I'm glad to be out of Florida, but I still worry about my kids.

We barely had 5" of snow up here in the mountains this winter, when 50" is the norm. Everything here was blooming by the middle of March, the buds on trees, flowers, etc... because we had rain and 80' weather.
Two weekends ago we had 80 mph winds and a snow storm and frost for several nights. We lost 95% of our pear crop, and who knows what else. I'm not too sure the baby birds made it either. There are newer buds coming out on the trees besides the dead growth, but there are no flowers anywhere. It looks wierd.

The whole US is experiencing violent windstorms and rain shears. The mid west is mostly drought. What hath nature wrought?
