There is no science that supports:
Big Foot
Lost continent of Atlantis
Visiting aliens from space
The existence of ghosts or faeries or God
High power lines causing disease
The earth being less than million year old
That current human activity will melt the ice caps of Greenland or Antarctic ice caps, or that human emission
of CO2 could cause a runaway greenhouse affect
And it's utterly meaningless for some idiot to claim there
is a "There is a HUGE body of scientific evidence and you know it!"
There is science that supports:
We are currently in a warming period
That we were in an Ice Age some 10,000+ years
ago and during this time the were ice caps covering
North America and that since the end of last Ice Age sea level as risen hundreds of feet.
That rocks from space could cause major affects on Earth
The Big Bang
Gravity warps space-time
Evolution of species
Mass extinction events in the past
Volcanos having major affects upon earth's surface and such thing as Super Volcanos
Solar weather affecting power grids.
The Moon was formed from a impacted with Earth
That Sun will evenually nova and this will destroy earth
if still in present orbit- or make Earth a "potentially UNINHABITABLE PLANET FOR THE HUMAN RACE".
Also it's possible that other cosmic/galactic events
could cause a potentially UNINHABITABLE PLANET FOR THE HUMAN RACE".
And much more
I can easily provide scientific evidence of any of things I listed as science. Whereas I can provide no scientific evidence of any in my list of "there is no science that supports". I don't need a "HUGE body of scientific evidence"- one piece of scientific evidence is enough.
When something claims it's scientific fact but is has no scientific evidence, that is called Pseudoscience:
"Pseudoscience is any kind of knowledge, belief, or practice that claims to be scientific but does not follow the scientific method.[1] Pseudosciences may appear scientific, but they do not adhere to the basic requirements (the testability and repeatability) of the scientific method."
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pseudoscience
In terms of sheer volume or "Huge body" there could more quantity Pseudoscience than Science, but if not winning in terms the paperstack, in terms of number of people believing and "knowing" science or Pseudoscience, it seems to me that Pseudoscience is winning in the vote count. E.g. a college grad may or may not know what cause seasons on Earth, but they probably know their astrological sign.
