As far as science goes, I can not tell if we humans are causing the average rise in temperatures. I believe we are still coming out of an Ice Age. I also know the Earth’s climate has been much hotter in the past- so hot there were no ice caps and the ocean literally boiled around the equator. I personally do not want to see the Earth get that hot again.
Regardless of the question above, we humans should pollute as less as possible. A cleaner world is better for everyone. We should also preserve as much wilderness as possible.
And America does need to get off our oil dependence for the reasons you cite.
So I am pretty much in agreement with you, Buck.
I do understand Tom’s fear. I do not want us flying off on some solution that will cause economic harm, based on unproven science. We need to get off oil, but it needs to be done in a smart way that the average American can afford.
