re: Seti.net not Seti.org

Yes the link you posted is to a web site - the most propionate one and in fact the only one, other than my self that is actually searching the water hole frequencies for ET. I am a pip squeak compared to that group of pro's. There are one or two stations searching optically for ET and of course the ATA will come on line sometime at the end of this year but right now - I'm the only station that works full time in the water hole. I'm it after 60 or so years.

As far as being 'official' I have no idea what that means. The US government has no budget for any SETI programs that I know of and I actually have been working SETI much longer than SETI@Home and as long as the precursor to that project as well. You can read the history of my station on my web site here:

http://www.seti.net/html/SETINet/First%20Search/FirstSearch.htm

By rummaging around in the site you can get a complete picture of the station I have running.

BTW - If on the small chance that someone reading this *thinks* they have the time, talent, and money to build one of these stations I am willing to tailor my software to fit your hardware.

Consider it a challenge.

Regards...... Jim
