I've been a Planetary Society member since the 70s

alcaray — 7/22/2007 6:27:30 AM (archived)

I was a founding participant in Seti@home. I've followed SETI since OZMA (I was born in '53, btw). While I do appreciate an able amature's achievements in that field, I am not gobsmacked by a new idea when it is mentioned to me.

To clear up some possible confusion: your wav file was presented on our space science board as proof that aliens were beaming music to us and the government did not want us to know about it. This was done (against our rules of the Space board) by our lovable local anomalist: Lindy. I did assume you were just another of her questionable sources, and I did not respect you as the gifted amature that you now seem to be. Sorry for that! When you showed up and a) did not dispute Lindy's claims, and b) challanged me to reread the thread, it reinforced the image of you that I had developed based on Lindy's posts.

Anomalism is not allowed on our space science board, but it is allowed on Offtopic (unless it becomes too heated, and then it belongs on the Flame board).
