Thanks for that Nick, but I didn't understand a word of it. Doesn't spacetime expand everywhere? The concept that the number of photons declines is difficult for me to conceive and
the idea that photons interact with matter and are "refreshed" is too hard for me to even input into my brain for processing !!!

Would you recommend a URL where I can read about it in more detail?
