Controversial, but not nonsense
The jury is still out scientifically, but the most logical conclusion would be that extinction was driven by a combination of hunting and climate change. Other theories discuss possible human-carried microbes.
I do know that large, tasty animals tend to dry up quickly when humans show up in any environment.
