Somebody from Alabama or Georgia and/or other southern states might not enjoy being called a "Yanqui." In fact, in some parts of the South, you might be taking your life in your hands. Some people in the South have not forgotten the Civil War, or rather the War of Northern Aggression as some may refer to it.
I was born South of the Mason Dixon line. I am not a rabid Southerner nor do I refight the Civil War. I'm glad the South lost. But I am NOT a Yankee! And I can put on an Ozarkian accent with the best of them!
