The function of the front end of the brain is to keep that line solid. A baboon can get outraged. So can a lizard. Outrage on its own is meaningless. Outrage tempered by the mind can do great things. Some of the most famous speeches by famous people in history were outrage expressed in a civilized manner.
Like I said, any baboon can howl, throw his fists, break things, and roll around on the ground.
People like this student are spoiled brats, who I suspect were handled with amused tolerance by "advanced" parents who treated his taking a shit on the kitchen table as an "outlet for his natural expression." Later in "enlightened" schools, there would have been no discipline, and few consequences for misbehavior.
Such people grow up to think the world revolves around them, and that their immature emotions entitle them to attention and special treatment. It's what they've learned all their lives.
Incidentally, none of this negates my point about what "free speech" in this country actually is.
