Ahmadinejad denied Ground Zero and other aspects

First, it was great Columbia University did invite him to speak.

But why deny him a visit to Ground Zero?

It's important to understand a couple of things:

Katami was Iran's president during 9/11; he did express his sorrow (after all, Iran knew well what it was to be attacked by a foreign power, didn't it?)
Iran supported the UN resolution allowing war against Afghanistan.

And yet, Bush included Iran in his Axis of Evil speach...long before anybody heard of Ahmadinejad.

Isn't it Bush's provocative speach that revolted Iranians so much they chose Ahmadinejad instead of a more moderate leader?

Demonizing a president is too often counter-productive.
