There is absolutely nothing to back it up. As I clearly pointed out, Syria and Iran are actively supporting the chaos.
Has it occured to anyone that if there had been no insurgency, no influx of terrorists--across the Syrian and Iranian border for the most part--that Iraq would have settled down by now? That if Syria and Iran actually wanted stability, step one would be to stop pouring gasoline on the fire?
Saying that Iran and Syria want stability in Iraq is like saying someone whacking a beehive with a baseball bat wants the bees to settle down.
On another front, it's blatantly obvious right now that Syria has no problem whatsoever with Lebanon's government collapsing. Syria would love to come in and take over again.
You remember the Syrian occupation of Lebanon. It's the occupation in the Middle East that nobody in the "international community" gave a rat's rump about because it didn't involve Jews.
Iran has no problem with Iraq collapsing into chaos, either. Following the Syrian model, they would love to come in and run the Iraqi government behind the scenes. Probably under someone like Sadr, who's been trying to pull that off since the beginning.

People keep saying that like it's a fact.
