Unfolding the dish

reminds me of a scifi book I read a few years back. Several astronauts are on an asteroid placing a transponder with a dish. The dish starts to unfold and then gets locked up. The astronaut gives it a little flick with of his finger and it completes the unfolding. Nice to have a human on hand...
