It is impossible to knock sense into a flake. Trust me on this.

What you need is to provide an equally-acceptable source for your own arguments, and get them out there so the flake isn't the only one on stage. The links I posted show some such examples.

There are environmentalists and groups who support nuclear power as the obvious way to reduce carbon use. France, held in high esteem by many liberals, is nuclear powered, and with great success and safety over many years. Other than some science magazines, there hasn't been much exposure for newer and safer technologies.

You spent a lot of time once selling nuclear power. Maybe you didn't like the approach at the time, but it's going to take a lot of selling today, too. We just need to find the right salesmen, who can get the facts out there without resorting to bullshit.
