Jeff Goldblum played him in the movie.

An excellent film, by the way, "The Race for the Double Helix", the only film I've seen (with the possible exception of the entirely fictional "Altered States" that realistically examines the psychology and motivations of scientists, and treats them like real people.

Goldblum's Watson was naive, brash, ambitious, pushy, annoying, and an outrageous (but totally inept) womanizer. Keep in mind, this was a film that was sympathetic to the two men! Crick came off a lot better.
If you haven't seen this, it's worth a special order at your local Lackuster Video store.

The movie was very sympathetic to Rosalind Franklin, too, who did most of the required work brilliantly, but was still incapable of pulling it all together and making sense of it. For that, Watson and Crick deserve our praise. They were the greatest scientists since Ed Hubble.
