So I guess its official. Scientists are the priest class of the new age and as such they have the right to take what ever they want from whoever they want for the “good” of society. Individual freedoms and property rights no longer apply except when the priests of science say they do.
News flash - science is just another profession and scientists have no more right to steal then anyone else, no matter how much they try to cloak it in the nobleness of their belief system. Once you give one group the right to steal from the labors of others other groups will want to right as well. Look at what happened to American anthropology as a result of laws to protect native remains from “falling” into private individuals. Native American groups used the same strategy to stop scientists from studying the remains. And the permit process makes it difficult to for even “real” scientists to get permission to dig. I guess you want to kill off astrogeology the same way.
