Would 'expanded' have been more proper a word? It has been said and written that our sun was much 'smaller' during it's infancy (1 Gy, let's say). Also, our sun and planets must have been spinning at a much faster rate than they are today... goes for our planet's orbits. Good ingredients for chaos.
